Back in the Bay

Back in the Bay is a newsy, fun and informative website that has been developed to connect Kiwi expats with businesses and services in Tauranga and the Western Bay of Plenty. A shortage of appropriately skilled workers negatively impacts on business growth and investment in the sub-region. Priority One, in consultation with key local businesses, has identified an opportunity to tap into the talent pool that exists with the over 500,000 highly skilled New Zealanders currently living overseas.

Many Kiwis living and working overseas dream of one day returning to New Zealand to live, work, raise a family, start new ventures or invest. By building relationships with this community and keeping them informed of the changing career opportunities in the Bay of Plenty, we are more likely to attract them to our region when the time comes for them to move home or make an investment in New Zealand. Back in the Bay provides a vehicle by which local businesses can establish and maintain direct relationships with those considering returning home.
