Bay of Plenty Clinical School Summer Programme
The Bay of Plenty District Health Board Clinical School Summer Programme provides an opportunity for Auckland and Otago University medical students to undertake projects of benefit to the District Health Board under the supervision of senior clinicians. A recent recipient was Otago University student, Sam Boggiss, whose research focused on improving fracture care at Tauranga Hospital by using virtual fracture clinics. Priority One funds the scholarship for students to take part in the Bay of Plenty Clinical School Summer Programme each year.
The success of the Bay of Plenty District Health Board as a teaching and research facility for the University of Auckland's Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences has resulted in it officially becoming a clinical campus.
