WNT Ventures is a technology-focused incubator that invests into IP-rich technologies developed within New Zealand universities, Crown Research Institutes and from private sector research. WNT is funded by a consortium of Bay of Plenty businesses and entrepreneurs comprising Wharf42 (with partner Plug & Play Tech Center in Silicon Valley), Newnham Horticultural Innovation Park, Titanium Industry Development Association (TiDA), Quayside Holdings, Enterprise Angels and Priority One. The collaboration is a unique model for incubation in New Zealand, leveraging its partnership with Callaghan Innovation and focusing on a range of sectors including technologies associated with the primary sector, high-value manufacturing, engineering and materials, robotics, medical and ICT. These investments have the potential to significantly transform the New Zealand economy, with substantial additional benefits possible from the synergies of the collaboration via its global networks.
