Council to assess Marine Park as new site for university research facility

Tauranga City Council has unanimously agreed to assess Sulphur Point's Marine Park recreation reserve as a potential new site for the University of Waikato's marine research and educational facility.  Councillor and committee chair Max Mason said the council was committed to keeping the university's marine research centre in Tauranga, "by working on the best option for the wider public as well as the university and other stakeholders".
