DESCRIPTION:NZ Green Building Council – Green Star Certification\nPriority One Members and non-members are welcome to this event.\nLight refreshments and snacks will be provided.\n\nThe New Zealand Green Building Council (NZGBC) was founded in NZ in July 2005 and in 2006 became the sixth member of the World Green Building Council. \nCreated by the sector\, they are Aotearoa’s leading sustainable building not-for-profit and are passionate advocates for better buildings. There are now 70 green building councils around the world\, representing over 36\,000 members. \nNZGBC are the certifiers for Green Star rated buildings. With three developments in the Priority One Tauranga CBD Blueprint registered to be 6-star rated Green Star buildings; including Tauranga City Council’s new office building at 90 Devonport Road\, headed by developers Willis Bond\, which is set to be the largest mass timber office building in New Zealand and will target a net zero carbon footprint for the building’s construction process; this is a first in the history of Tauranga to have buildings constructed to this level. For more information on the build\, see the latest media release:New Zealand’s largest mass timber office building set to be built in Tauranga’s city centre. \nJoin us to hear from NZGBC’s technical coordinator and Tauranga’s local connect\, James Woods\, to gain a better understanding of what it means to develop a Green Star building and the process required to achieve this. You will find the Notice of AGM (business agenda)\, minutes from last year’s AGM and the Priority One annual report in the links below. \nWe are pleased to return to a standard\, in-person format\, which will provide an opportunity for business attendees to network and connect\, face-to-face once again. We will provide a general update on the year’s activates\, highlights\, events\, key successes and announce the appointment of the Executive Board members as a result of the electronic vote. \nAlso joining us this year\, are two talented guest speakers; Tracey Cotter-Martin\, Associate Director of Future Insights at Datacom\, who will discuss what the future of work will look like for our region; and Bay of Plenty Youth Development Trust (BOPYDT) Chairman\, Craig Nees\, who will share the trusts vision and how they foresee Priority One members collaborating with the future of work. \nThis year’s AGM is being hosted at Youth Central (Te Puna Taiohi) which is the home of the BOPYDT\, and is the largest dedicated youth development and community facility of its kind in Aotearoa. The purpose of the Trust is to develop well-rounded\, vibrant\, independent\, and responsible youth who are work-fit\, ambitious\, goal oriented\, and active contributors in their communities.
