Groundswell Festival of Innovation

Priority One leads the annual Groundswell festival of innovation, which creates a week-long series of events to showcase how people and businesses in the Bay are leading the way though innovation. 

Groundswell creates a programme to engage thought leaders, businesses and organisations with a common goal to encourage collaboration, conversations and connections.  It includes forums, presentations, workshops, networking events, open days and exhibitions to demonstrate the diverse range of creativity taking place in the Bay. 

Groundswell 2018 was held from 27 August to 2 September at venues across Tauranga and the Western Bay.  There were 43 events that attracted over 4000 people during the course of the festival.  Some of the hero events included the inaugural Rhubarb Innovation Summit, Ko Maui Hangarau Maori entrepreneurial and tech event for rangatahi, Design the City Experiment, Love Our Laneways, the International Business Case Competition and the YiA Innovation Forum.
