James ‘Jock’ Nicholson

James’s aka Jock joins our Ara Rau Skills and Employment Hub as an Employment Mentor, and his role is to connect rangatahi who are not engage in education, training or employment with local employers and training providers. He works collaboratively, connects and builds relationships with our rangatahi and maps out options with local employers or training providers to ultimately secure long-term employment.

Jock spent the last three years at EmployNZ as a Careerfit Tutor teaching, mentoring, coaching rangatahi to gain their NCEA level 2 credits.

Jock comes from a rugby league background and has been involved with coaching local representative Coastline teams from U16’s through to seniors over the last decade. He enjoys hitting the gym, walks up Mauao or Papamoa Hills and Bay of Plenty lifestyle.
