Submit your session ideas for DayBreak 2026!

This is your opportunity to contribute to the programme for DayBreak – Festival of Innovation 2026.
If you have an idea for a presentation, workshop, seminar, discussion, deep dive or other kind of
session that you think would fly at DayBreak, then we would love to hear from you (details below).

Session guide

Your session should be 90 minutes and for 20-50 people. Our theme is make shift happen – we want our programme to be a playbook for 2026, helping participants with skills, ideas, inspiration and connections they can use to create momentum and shift the dial in the new year. Yes, this is very broad! In previous years, sessions have included:

  • Tangata whenua innovation
  • Organisational innovation strategies
  • Developing organisational cultures
  • Cutting-edge science and technology
  • How to run effective meetings
  • Project management
  • Building connection and relationships in a workplace context
  • Brands and branding
  • Startups and early-stage investment
  • Financing for innovation
  • Marketing effectiveness
  • Intellectual property
  • Circular design
  • Empathy and user experience

I have a great idea! What do I do?

If you have a session idea, please describe it in about 100 words and email to Shane Stuart, Innovation Manager at Priority One shane@priorityone.co.nz

The call for sessions is open until Tuesday, 14 October 2025.

We just need an initial description at this stage. It’s not necessary to send a fully worked up, detailed concept. Just indicate the topic, proposed format and any requirements (e.g. A/V, room setup). The only limitation is that we aren’t going off site (so no field trips!).

Check out the 2025 programme to get an idea of previous sessions.

Please remember this is an Expression of Interest process. We cannot guarantee that your idea or session will be selected.
