Young Innovator Awards

The annual ‘Young Innovator Awards’ have been designed to create tomorrow’s innovators through the application of innovative problem solving and critical thinking in young people.  The initiative is a partnership between Priority One’s Instep programme and high-profile entrepreneurial Priority One members Bluelab Corporation and Woods, and is held as part of the Groundswell festival of innovation.

Award entries from intermediate and secondary school students are judged by a team of experts against the criteria of innovation, research, creativity, sustainability and communication.  Alongside the awards, an innovation forum is hosted where experts in their respective fields discuss how innovation contributed to their success.  A record 500 entries were received for the 2017 Young Innovator Awards, with the awards night held on 10 August.  This year’s category sponsors were Page Macrae Engineering, Beca, Plus Group, House of Science and Bayfair Shopping Centre.
