What is SBN’s Electrify Business programme?

Electrify Business is a national campaign to help businesses transition away from fossil fuels and towards clean electric technologies. It’s for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and provides them with the information and confidence to electrify their operations, whether that’s their vehicle fleet, equipment, facilities or energy use. This initiative aims to make electrification mainstream across Aotearoa New Zealand businesses.

Electrify Business is a much wider programme than just these regional events. It includes an online directory of electrification solution providers, business case studies, a national webinar and an ongoing marketing campaign. The Tauranga event is an opportunity for local businesses to engage with the programme.

Who is involved?

Electrify Business is led by SBN in partnership with the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (EECA), Daikin New Zealand, Schneider Electric New Zealand and Rewiring Aotearoa. We’re also engaging with a network of regional partners, local councils, industry associations and electrification solution providers from across the country. It’s a collective effort to give businesses the knowledge and connections they need to make the switch.

The Electrify Business Tauranga event will be hosted at Devan Plastics with the support of Priority One.

Anything to share from the Auckland event (with the aim of inspiring Tauranga businesses to come along)?

We have hosted Electrify Business events in Northland, Auckland and Waikato so far. All participants who filled out the post-event surveys said the event: “Inspired them to take action to electrify their business” and “They made a useful connection at the event”.

This event is hosted at Devan Plastics – what work has already happened there?

Devan Plastics has had 100+ solar panels installed by Acquasol at their manufacturing facility in Tauriko, Tauranga. SBN has not been directly involved with this process, but we are showcasing this success story at the Electrify Business Tauranga event to inspire other businesses in the region to make the shift.
