  • This event has passed.

In the current economic climate, the project delivery and construction sector pipeline is under pressure – from finding and retaining quality staff through to material supply constraints and their significant cost increases.  But what does this really mean for the residential and commercial construction sector and for you as an owner, developer or investor?

Join us to hear industry leaders discuss the latest challenges and insights in the project delivery and construction sector supply chain pipeline – employment, immigration, residential and commercial construction and material cost analysis.

In the current economic climate, the project delivery and construction sector pipeline is under pressure – from finding and retaining quality staff through to material supply constraints and their significant cost increases. But what does this really mean for the residential and commercial construction sector and for you as an owner, developer or investor?
Join us to hear from our supply chain panel pipeline experts as they provide an update on the current and future state:

  • Employment: Nigel Tutt, Chief Executive of Priority One, will outline the current Bay of Plenty status – record low unemployment, how seasonal workers affect the construction sector, and Priority One’s Ara Rua, Pathways to Work programme.
  • Immigration: Michelle Urquhart, Associate at Tompkins Wake, will inform us on the current challenges around the lack of immigration into New Zealand, the new work visa scheme announced by the Government, and just how this will work and what it means for employers.
  • Residential Projects Perspective: Mark Fraser-Jones, Director of Venture Developments, will share his perspective on the current opportunities and challenges in the residential building sector. What does this mean for current projects, already under contract, and future commitments?
  • Commercial Projects Perspective and Material Cost Analysis: Peter McCawe, General Manager New Business of Hawkins, will outline the current state of the commercial sector, its opportunities and challenges within the construction pipeline both today, and in the near future. Peter will also provide an analysis on material pricing and where this is likely to head in the future.

At the conclusion of the presentations, our MC Scott Adams, Chairman of the Urban Task Force will open the floor for questions and further discussion.
