Instep Young Leaders energised at Toi Ohomai Business Breakfast

Latest News

Our Instep Young Leaders gathered for a morning of motivation, insights, and practical wellness strategies at the recent Business Breakfast hosted by Toi Ohomai. The morning offered participants personal insights and practical advice for improving their energy and performance.

The event opened with a talk from Bart Vosse, Executive Dean, who shared his personal journey. Bart discussed his unconventional pathway, explaining how he left school early due to academic struggles and took a chance at age 17 by travelling overseas to pursue cooking. This decision eventually led him to become a chef at a two Michelin-starred restaurant. Despite this success, Bart encountered a career ceiling, prompting his return to education to complete his master’s degree. His story highlighted resilience, adaptability, and the importance of continued growth.

Following Bart’s talk, the morning transitioned into an interactive Health & Wellbeing workshop, titled ‘Energy Draining & Energy Enhancing,’ guided by Toi Ohomai’s Health & Wellbeing lecturers, Emma McMichael and Rachel Svirin. Participants explored how nutrition affects daily energy levels, decision-making, sleep quality, and overall personal growth.

Anna and Emma’s workshop provided practical insights, helping students identify foods that drain or boost their energy. Attendees left the session with actionable tips they could apply immediately, supporting wellbeing and productivity in their personal and professional lives.

The Instep Young Leaders Business Breakfast offered practical advice alongside a nourishing breakfast, supporting wellbeing in body, mind, and spirit.
