The Mount Maunganui Industry Environmental Accord has been signed by 31 businesses in the industrial zone, committing them to take voluntary actions to improve their environmental footprint. Signatories have identified and reported 256 actions, with 126 completed and 121 underway or scheduled. These initiatives are helping to reduce environmental impacts and support improved air quality outcomes across the Mount industrial area. New actions are regularly added to the register.

The project is entering its next phase, with a greater focus on peer-to-peer learning and collaboration. A programme of site visits has begun, enabling businesses to see initiatives firsthand, exchange ideas and learn from one another’s experiences. The first visit was hosted by Stolthaven (pictured), with further visits planned as part of the ongoing programme for signatories.
