Monday, 30 November 2020: Thirty Eight Elizabeth was the name on everyone’s lips as the branding for the much-anticipated $200 million Farmers Tauranga Development was unveiled at a breakfast event in Tauranga.

The destination, including the new Farmers flagship store and other select retail and dining experiences, will be complemented by the residential offering of 97 luxurious apartments and 23 sky townhouses with unparalleled views of the city – now collectively named Elizabeth Towers.

A podium sitting above the retail and dining precinct will feature a spectacular sky garden – a cosmopolitan replacement for the traditional backyard with communal garden terraces, a state-of-the-art pool, spa, gym, and entertainment areas. The first images of the sky garden were revealed exclusively at the event.

“It was time to give this spectacular site its names,” says project manager Brett Nicholls. “As Elizabeth Towers goes up within Thirty Eight Elizabeth, we want the local community to feel as proud of this site as we do.”

The two names draw distinctions between the overall development and the special residential offering, which offers a new way of living well in New Zealand.

We see it as the gateway to the inner city and have huge faith in the heart of the city, reflected in the extent of this investment and our commitment to remain on track and on time,” says Brett.

“The names Elizabeth Towers and Thirty Eight Elizabeth pay homage to the local area in a simple and elegant way, which is in keeping with a design that interacts harmoniously with the natural beauty of the city scape and its incredible views to the harbour, Mount Maunganui and beyond.”

Thirty Eight Elizabeth is due to open in late 2021, with the Elizabeth Towers apartments and townhouses available to view and purchase shortly after.

There is currently a team of 150 people working on the site, an investment that will continue to ramp up.

Brett says Thirty Eight Elizabeth is a unique spot, with a unique vision brought to life through a passion to introduce a new way of living to New Zealand.

“Nowhere in Tauranga can you rival the convenience and beauty of this spot. In fact, it would be hard to beat the views anywhere in New Zealand from a residential point of view. This will change the way we think about inner city living in this country – a genuinely mixed-use development where living, retail and dining at their best come together.”

An oasis in the city, the attention to detail in Elizabeth Towers is unrivalled, with apartments and townhouses designed for those who love timeless elegance. Each home celebrates the unparalleled views that only this location commands – from the city, to the harbour and Mount Maunganui. Expansive windows and generous, oversized balconies for each home pay homage to this, bringing the light and spectacular surroundings in, without disturbing the sense of a private sanctuary.

The calm ambience is accentuated with contemporary design, curated appliances and accessories, and a neutral, airy palette.

An exclusive residential basement car park will expand across the full site, providing plenty of parking for owners. A further 160 carparks will be provided for shoppers.

There has already been strong interest from homebuyers, but the decision to build before putting the homes on the market is one that Brett is sticking with.

“We are choosing to build before bringing the offering to the market to demonstrate its high level of thought, craftsmanship and quality – seeing is believing,” he says.
