Credit Union North is a member owned non profit cooperative offering personal financial services. Credit Union North’s purpose is to improve the financial well being of its members.

As a not for profit retail financial services cooperative, Credit Union North’s purpose is to help improve the financial well being of its Member / Customers. 

Credit Union North is not profit driven, but understands the commercial requirement to be profit focused to ensure it remains efficient and productive.

Credit Union North operates in the field of Personal Retail Financial Services and does not offer services to Commercial, Rural, Wholesale / Corporate, or International customers.  This market is Credit Union North’s sole focus, therefore it is less likely to get diverted or distracted from its core business and purpose.

Credit Union North’s point of difference is its welcoming and friendly approach and its strong relationship and trust that staff have built with members.  As a non profit organisation it’s staff aren’t pushed to sell, sell, sell – they are encouraged to provide members with what they will genuinely benefit from.  As a result members trust the Credit Union a lot more than the purely profit driven banks.

Credit Union North welcomes and serves a broad range of customers. Its predominant customer is generally the “Kiwi Battler” – hard working honest New Zealanders who are also working hard to make their way financially.

With over 33,000 member / customers Credit Union North has the largest number of customers of any New Zealand Credit Union, as well the largest branch network, with 16 branches across the Waikato & Bay of Plenty regions.  Credit Union North offers a broad range of products and services from Internet Banking, telephone Banking and Debit cards to Term Investments, Insurances and Savings accounts.  Its primary lending focus is Personal Loans, however overdrafts and home loans are also available.
